The spring Noro yarn is starting to come in...Meet Karuta, 40% silk/30% wool/30% cotton and 165yds per 100gm. $20.00/100gm ball.

I swatched on an 8 needle 4.5 sts/in and like this gauge, which is much different than they are recommending. A 9 needles gives 4 sts/in and is okay but I personally like a bit denser knit.

A couple new pattern books and some new sock yarn are now online. Sublime pattern book 660 includes 12 garments for women knit in Sublime Tussah Silk. Several of these designs look like they could be worn to the office. Ella Rae pattern book 114 includes garments & accessories for women using Ella Rae Lace Merino or Latte yarn.

Regia has some new 4-ply Design Line sock yarns that have come in. I have 2 colorways from Kristin Nicholas' Garden Effects series and all 6 colorways from Kaffe Fasset's Ombre Stripe series.

Also, a new stock of Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn has arrived. I have a good supply of both the current colors and many discontinued colors. The sweater shown here is a modified version of the Fair Isle Cardigan from Knit Noro which uses the sock yarn. I changed the drop sleeve to a raglan sleeve, and also modified the ribbing, neck, and gauge.

this spring!

We have 4 new colors of Sublime Tussah Silk in stock. This is a DK weight yarn, 50% silk/50% viscose. Sublime pattern book 650 includes several classic, yet trendy, designs for women including the top shown here. You could also use Tussah Silk for the patterns in book 633.

I have added a new lace-weight yarn, Manos del Uruguay Lace from Fairmount Fibers Ltd. This is a kettle-dyed yarn that is 70% baby alpaca, 25% silk, and 5% cashmere. $19.00/50gm skein.

I also have several patterns using this yarn, including sweaters, wraps, and scarves.
