Noro Fall/Winter Yarns

I now have some stock of Noro's Fall/Winter 2024 yarns, Rittou and Saiun, as well as a couple more colors of 2023 yarn Rikka.

Rittou is named after the Japanese term for 'the first day of winter.' Each colorway has a natural brown wool blended in to give it an autumn tone.

Emotional Support Chicken

I was NOT going to make one of these, buck the trend, then I needed one as a gag gift for a friend... This is as close as I could get to her school colors. Think she loved it. I used 2 balls of Noro Kureyon #124 and leftovers for the stripes, beak, comb, and wattle. Pattern is Emotional Support Chicken, $6.50. A well written pattern.

Lavold Jasmine Top

Just arrived: this nice looking cabled sleeveless top pattern to knit in Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool. Finished bust 34.5" - 63" uses 5 - 9 skeins. Many colors to choose from at $7.50/skein for your yarn pac, or purchase the pattern separately for $6.

Shetland Wool Week 2025 Hat

The 2025 Shetland Wool Week patron and annual hat pattern have been announced. A digital pattern can be purchased for £2 directly from Shetland Wool Week and I can supply yarn pacs for the Jamieson Spindrift colorway shown on the cover. Or make it your own by choosing any colors from my large stock of Spindrift!

New Fair Isle Hat Pattern

Hairst Mön is a fair isle hat knit with 6 colors of Jamieson DK yarn. I have a few Ravelry pattern codes available with a yarn pac purchase. The dark colorway shown here is in stock, or make it your own from the 159 colors in stock.

Here is my version in Christmassy colors. I thought the design looked like a poinsettia and used a 7th color to get the yellow center. These yarn pacs are also available.

Ella Rae Cozy Soft

Ella Rae Cozy Soft Solids is available from my supplier again. This is a 25% superwash wool, 75% acrylic yarn with a nice soft feel that's knit at 5 - 5.5 sts/inch. I now have 40 colors in stock, including 4 new-to-me colors as well as many discontinued colors.

Simply Shetland Limited Edition Hat Kit

Simply Shetland's new limited edition holiday hat kit is now in stock. It includes a pattern postcard with a free download code for Ravelry, 5 balls of Jamieson Spindrift, and a branded organic cotton muslin bag. The pattern includes instructions for both a beret and a beanie and is exclusive to the kit through November.

Noro Magazine and Ito Yarn

The new Noro Knitting & Crochet Magazine has arrived! It includes 31 designs to knit or crochet in Noro yarns, plus the first block of a new knit-along afghan.

Design Outtakes from Noro Magazine 25: 8 Hushed Designs includes 8 sweaters and vests for women, knit in a variety of Noro yarns. If self-striping yarn isn't your thing, several of these use yarns in solo or tweedy colors.

My Entrelac Vest for Noro Akari

I have rewritten my Entrelac Vest pattern to use one of my favorite Noro yarns, Akari - lots of colors available, and comfortable to wear year round.

The pattern uses 2 skeins of Akari for finished sizes 40" - 48".

Vintage Needlework

When I moved my store from Ohio to Virginia, I did not add the needlework kits, etc. to my web site. I am sorting through the boxes and posting those that are still useable. These items are all at least 25 years old and have been in storage most of that time. They would be an inexpensive way to learn needlepoint, cross stitch, or various types of embroidery.

Now Shipping Outside United States

We have re-enabled shipping options to Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.

All packages to destinations outside the U.S. will ship using a service called Global Post. This is a service where I send packages to a collection point in the US, then they are bundled and shipped to other countries by Global Post for customs clearance. Once customs are cleared, the local post office delivers your package.

I do not collect any taxes (VAT) or customs duties owed on international shipments. You may need to pay these before your package will be delivered.
