Pat's Triangle Tango Vest
This is my version of the Colleen Davis Triangle Tango Vest, modeled by Fae, one of my customers from California.
I used Noro Silk Garden
off the ball with no planning. I knew this was not going to be long enough,
so instead of the shoulder triangle going over the top and joining the front
to the back, I put triangle 7 on both pieces, then used a 7 triangle to fill
in the space on the neck edge. Then I wasn't sure I could use triangles to
fill in the back so I filled in with a yoke using some short rows to attempt
to pull in the width a little bit and as I am round shouldered figured this
might help it lay a bit better. Then of course it wasn't big enough around
so I added one of the chevron gussets I have used on some of my patterns
under the arm. I had some triangular buttons that were a good match.
If I knit this again, and I probably will when some of the new fall Noro yarns come in, I will knit the front panel smaller so that it isn't so wide in the shoulders and compensate for the loss in width with a wider underarm gusset. I love the added length, however might see if I can work in with triangles of some kind, now that I have found some isometric graph paper.
